Trabzonspor Under-19 Team is in the final of the UEFA Youth League.
Trabzon – In the UEFA Youth League semi-final match, Trabzonspor defeated Austrian side Salzburg 2-1 to reach the final.
In the 30th minute, Salzburg won a free kick on the left wing. Lukic delivered the ball into the penalty area, where Schuster rose well for a header, but the ball went wide.
In the 37th minute, Salzburg was awarded a penalty. Brandtner made a run behind the defense from the left wing, and Taha Emre İnce, attempting to block him with a sliding tackle, brought him down and conceded the penalty.
In the 39th minute, Salzburg missed the penalty. Lukic took the shot, but sent the ball wide of the left post.
The first half ended goalless at 0-0.
In the 73rd minute, Trabzonspor took the lead. From a throw-in on the left, Salih Malkoçoğlu broke free from his marker and found Yiğit Kemal Turan just outside the box. Turan's placed shot beat the goalkeeper to the right and found the net: 1-0.
In the 84th minute, Salzburg equalized. From a corner taken by Lukic on the left, the ball fell to Mellberg in the scramble at the far post, and he slotted it into the net: 1-1.
In the 89th minute, Trabzonspor regained the lead. Esat won the ball in midfield and passed it to Boran Başkan, positioned just outside the penalty area. Başkan's low shot found the bottom left corner: 2-1.
The match ended with Trabzonspor's 2-1 victory. The claret-and-blue team advanced to the final.
Trabzonspor will face the winner of the AZ Alkmaar vs. Barcelona semi-final in the final, which will be held on Monday, April 28, at the same venue. (AA)
