Actor August Wittgenstein has German-Swedish roots.Actually, August Wittgenstein is ideally cast in the crime thriller "Murder in Vienna – The Last Bite" (on April 24 at 8:15 p.m. on ARD ). The 44-year-old, who recently appeared in series such as "Höllgrund" and "Das Netz," is not only aristocratic like his protagonist, he also has extensive personal experience with the Alpine republic. However, he differs from Austrians in one respect: He also brings with him a certain degree of Scandinavian melancholy.
You're married to an Austrian and play an Austrian in "Murder in Vienna." Can we assume you like this country?
August Wittgenstein: I would say I really appreciate the sense of tradition and history. Classical music is truly celebrated, especially in Vienna. Everyone knows which opera singer is in town. And my wife introduces me to everything cultural. Although a sense of tradition was important to me even before.
